HKUST, in collaboration with Toolbox Percussion of Hong Kong, presents the GRAMMY Award-winning Third Coast Percussion ensemble, in an evening of energetic performances that celebrates the extraordinary depth and breadth of contemporary percussion music. Third Coast will be the feature performer for the TICA Gala Concert.
HKUST will provide a free shuttle bus roundtrip from HKUST to Youth Square Theatre in Chai Wan. The bus will depart from HKUST at 6:40 PM and return to HKUST from Youth Square Theatre at approximately 9:30 PM following the conclusion of the performance. The bus will depart from the Piazza near the souvenir shop.
Third Coast Percussion
Third Coast Percussion is a Grammy Award-winning Chicago-based percussion quartet. For fifteen years, the ensemble has created exciting and unexpected performances that constantly redefine the classical music experience. The ensemble has been praised for “commandingly elegant” (New York Times) performances, the “rare power” (Washington Post) of their recordings, and “an inspirational sense of fun and curiosity” (Minnesota Star-Tribune). Third Coast Percussion maintains a busy tour schedule, with past performances in 33 of the 50 states plus international tour dates in Colombia, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and Poland.
